  • Mail Room/Copy Room

Do this kinds of things still exist in large companies, or is that just in old movies?

I need a place for a young guy to work in a big (technical) corporation. He doesn't have much in the way of skills and isn't looking to climb the corporate ladder. But he needs the job, because he wants to snoop around.

    Thanks!

    Re: Mail Room/Copy Room

The larger companies I've worked for all had mailrooms. The guys make the rounds daily to deliver everybody's incoming mail and pick up the outgoing mail.

      In short, yes, they do.

And even if they didn't you're the writer, so you can make them have it so they do have one. You're the writer, you make the rules in your world.

Well, within limits. Push too far and your story stops being believable.

Thanks Ravenlocks. That's perfect. For some reason, I was thinking of the sorting room, because I seem to recall that in old movies. But the delivery part is even better. Makes it even easier to snoop around.

By the way, I like to keep a lot of incidental stuff believable and grounded. It makes the exciting, unbelievable stuff stand out that much more.

I assume the sorting part goes on in the physical mailroom. But yeah, during delivery would be the best time to snoop.

to add to the mix, you can also include a "shredding" section in the room... for all those important documents.
