  • Late 19th century west coast questions

Hey guys, I'm looking for images of coastal towns, fisheries, beaches of late 19th century on the west coast. Everything I can find about the old west is the classic desert stuff, but not much about coastal towns and beach communities. If anyone can point me to some research or images that would be great. Thanks!

The California Historical Society might be a good place to start
    (http://www.californiahistoricalsociety.org/).

Then there's Kevin Starr, the State Librarian (former?).

But I think that any California and UC library, county / city history organization, not to mention the Internet, should keep you busy.
