    I know. But still...

You gotta love J.D. (At least those of us who love Scrubs do.)

        Oy.

Okay. No, we can work with that.

Just watch Scrubs from the first season. Seriously, the first episode of the first season. And then go from there.

I promise you'll be hooked (if you like dramedy, that is).

how many seasons are there? when i get hooked on a show, it's not a pretty sight. i'm going to have to map out my schedule very carefully to allow for sleep and work.

          fyi, i'm not joking.

There are nine seasons (over two networks).

Just to give you an idea of the tonal shifts (humor to pathos), here are a few clips from a second season episode (one of my favorites), up to and including the ending:

I agree, unless it turns into a bed, then they always call it a sofa.

I concur - you must at least watch the first season of Scrubs. Very funny, original, clever, and great at blending comedy and emotional stuff.

Rent it, pop in the DVD, and then just kick back on your DVP.

DVP stands for davenport. It's the latest hipster term for a couch.

DVPP stands for davenport potato, which you'll turn into if you watch too much Scrubs.

Yanks don't know what a Davenport is. A couch confuses them, except for the term "couch-potato".

                    Use "sofa".

thank you for the head's up cshel; i'll definitely grab the first season when i'm out shopping. funny about the dvp and dvpp! to explain why i find it humorous; i work with acronyms a lot at my job (you'd be amazed at my running "daily" list: roughly 4000 so far). anybody remember the acronym scene in "good morning vietnam"? just like that but not military.

i'd have to check but i think this also has an industry assignation (as many acronyms do). i'll never look at it the same again without thinking of a cool couch.

And this Yank never uses "sofa." I use "couch."

Great. Now I'm picturing you as Morgan Freeman in a red sweatsuit, staring at my ass.

                                I feel dirty and confused.
