  • New York City; county governments, Brooklyn...

Any New Yorkers or City of New York residents know if the "five boroughs" all fall under the same county or if they are split up?
I do not live in NY but was under the thinking that only Brooklyn had it's own county(DA's office, sheriff, county executive, etc).
I always thought Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, Staten Island were in New York County or Manhattan County.

    What's the real deal?

    Beefy
ps; I spoke to 2 different "New Yorkers" who did not know either. Lol.
I'd rather get bank credit, than screen credit.

Each borough IS it's own county. With it's own DA, etc.

    Brooklyn - Kings County
    Queens - Queens Couny
    Bronx - Bronx County
    Manhattan - New York County
    Staten Island - Richmond County

Then there's Long Island with two counties:

    Nassau County
    Suffolk County
Advice from writer, Kelly Sue DeConnick. "Try this: if you can replace your female character with a sexy lamp and the story still basically works, maybe you need another draft.-

Each borough has an elected Borough President as opposed to a 'county executive', as Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties do.
