  • Re: The Screenplay Mechanic (EvilRbt)

Sorry, guys, can't take any more submissions until the end of October.

I'm producing a feature I "found", which starts shooting Oct 11th, and I'm pretty much booked solid until then.

As soon as I'm taking reservations again, I'll post here.

      that's great!

      where'd you "find" it?
and since you didn't write it then what's your role in the project?

I read it through my company, loved it, and put the production team together. I also did some uncredited work on the script, brought in some financing, and I'm Co-Producer on the movie. Can't share any other details for a while.

Just know, it's merely the first Mechanic production.

          Nice one.

I consider your increasing success pure selfishness. Your concentration on selling your scripts and producing your films is creating havoc for those of us who depend on you to keep alive our own glimmer of hope.

Please consider scrapping your career in order to concentrate on the huddled masses who need you.

            And as usual - congrats!

Okay, folks, I'm back and reading my ass off.

The feature I just co-produced is wrapped and we expect to see a first cut in January or so. The other producers and I are staying tight-lipped about the picture until it's completely finished. However, I can assure you the footage looks AMAZING and the performance by our lead actor (can't say who yet) is absolutely phenomenal. He calls it the best performance of his career. It's a movie you will almost certainly hear about (and hopefully pay to see) mid-2011.

Until then, I continue to read, provide coverage, and search for the next project to produce.

I'm currently booked up until the 17th but taking reservations. Email me at [email protected] to reserve a spot. Please note, my rates are about to go up (long overdue), but I will still offer some kind of DD discount. For the immediate future, the old rates still apply:

                    $67 full coverage
                    $57 notes-only

Hope everyone is well and writing great stuff...

I'm afraid the time has come... My rates have gone UP.

Many family and friends (even a surprising number of clients) have urged me to charge more. I do work incredibly hard, and I've helped several clients get signed by reps, even get their material produced! So I believe my service remains great value for money.

I will continue to offer a DD discount. Now it will be 25% off the prices on my website!

Full Coverage (Cover Page, 2-page Synopsis, 1.5-2 pages notes)
                        $119 (w/ 25% discount = $89)

Notes-Only (Same as coverage but no Synopsis)
                        $95 (w/ 25% discount = $71)

As always, email for availability and instructions on how to apply discount.

Plenty of spots left for the second half of November...
