  • Re: The Screenplay Mechanic (EvilRbt)

I've been swamped with Script Shark stuff this week, but now taking reservations for the week of July 5th...

Hope everyone's well and writing some great stuff. Hoping to share some good news on a couple of clients' success over the next month or so.

You've read one that made it's way into a big director last week. Just sayin'.

Fantastic! I hope he signs on. I'd ask who it is, but I don't want you to jinx it.

What's the "booking process"? Just shoot you an e-mail?

Not that the Mechanic needs another endorsement, but I'll give it anyway.

Just used him for two of my scripts, and the feedback on each was excellent. He clearly read both scripts very carefully and, even better, had some great suggestions for making the material better. His critique for each script was well-written and clearly stated, and well worth the money.

I will definitely use him again.

Have you ever broken down what percentages of scripts get a "PASS", "CONSIDER w/ RESERVATIONS", or "CONSIDER" from you? I apologize if this question has been asked before but couldn't find the answer.

                      Just curious.

I'll use him on my work in progress. I just have to finish a decent draft first. Perhaps August.

                            Roughly...
                            I'd say top 2-3% earn a consider
                            Top 4-8% earn a consider w/ reservations

Compared to my studio days, that's actually more considers than the norm. But I read some great stuff from Done Deal members and the average is better than most of what the agencies send out...

Yes! Now I have a plan. He's read 4 or 5 of my scripts already. If I can just write 93 more scripts the odds are I'll get a consider!

Wow, that made our day - and we needed it - we got a 'consider' on our last script (after sending five previously that didn't quite make it).

But his notes made everyone of the others significantly better. the best and most meanginful coverage value there is. And we've used many before discovering (thankfully) Screenplay Mechanic on this forum.
