I saw that today. I'm very confused -- can some business person explain how Discovery is more powerful than WB and HBO? They got Shark Week. WB has Batman. WTF?
This business is brutal. Even a finished $90 MILLION dollar comic book movie isn't safe.
I'm wondering if the statement from the directors had something to do with it. Apparently this "straight to streaming" movie was already $20 million over budget and, according to the directors, it was "far from finished."
“We are saddened and shocked by the news,” the filmmaking duo said in a statement released on Instagram. “We still can’t believe it. As directors, it is critical that our work be shown to audiences, and while the film was far from finished, we wish that fans all over the world would have had the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves. Maybe one day they will insha’Allah.”
STANDARD DISCLAIMER: I'm a wannabe, take whatever I write with a huge grain of salt.
