The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse, by far.

I had my copy of the "Mighty Mouse snorts the cocaine" episode on tape for years. (For those who missed this great series, it was said to have been canceled over the episode in question. Mighty Mouse took pity on a Polly Pureheart type selling flowers in the street. A bully kept crushing the girl's lone flower for sale, cackling lines such as "Some people get their kicks stepping on dreams." Mighty Mouse bought a powdered flower out of pity and proceeded to snort it up his nose in the process of smelling it.)

I met Ralph's daughter at a wedding a couple months ago. She said my tape would have gone for decent money on eBay. Grr. I think my brother might have poached it.

            Movie-wise, Lord Of the Rings.

Spicy City. I liked the anthology aspect of the series and the stories were good.

I'm here to rain on the parade.

I cannot abide Bakshi's work. At all.

Everything about it irks me and makes me shut off the screen. color choices, animation, movement, story, voice work, everything. Just thinking about it makes me want to punch something. Ugh!

                Rain over.

                Parade back on.

Fritz and Heavy Traffic are the only two I can stand.

Coonskin - 1975 (retitled Street Fight for video) is his most politcal work. I liked it better than Heavy Traffic. Lots of social symbolism and still quite potent. I didn't know he had anything to do with the Mighty Mouse fiasco back then but now it makes sense.

Street Fight is something else. A mix of Disney and blaxploitation, if you can stomach that. Ralph just went to Harlem and interviewed black people to get a line on how they felt and put it in the movie.

I second the New Adventures of Mighty Mouse. One of my favorite episodes was when MM discovered the Mighty Heroes (an old cartoon about superheroes; Diaper Man, Rope Man, Cuckoo Man, etc.) were now retired and running the accounting firm of Man, Man, Man, Man and Man.

here's a link about that cartoon, for those who remember watching it in reruns:

It doesn't. It had a shelf life of a year in 1981. Terrible story structure and crappy rotoscoping
