    Snakes on a Plane Teaser - http://youtube.com/watch?v=8aAkHGCuQT4

I have to say, I'm very excited! It's not often you can go into a movie with absolutely no expectations, especially when Keanu Reeves isn't involved.

Samuel L. Jackson, you kick ass, got-dayummit!

(spoilers if you haven't watched it)

I can't get over it, the whole thing makes me smile. The fact that the first line is "Enough is Enough. I've had it with the Snakes!" and then he WHIPS a dude with a Snake. A SNAKE! Everyone's just running around like AHHH! And a snake comes out of the Big lady in the moo-moo's bra! My brain just melts! And that one shot of a guy holding a snake that is so obviously plastic! It may just be the most heartwarming movie of the summer! I am really looking forward to it.

You know enough of these PR campaigns that trick me into the seats and then serve up two hours of warmed over crap, with their emotional scoring and soft lighting. This movie is so refreshingly honest about what it's going to be, and the tone, and riddiculouslness, it's just perfectly conceptualized and targeted. If you think Snakes on a Plane sounds stupid then you aren't going to spend the money to see it, so you're not going to go see it and then complain about it. And whatever press it does get can't possibly be worse than the title/premise.

For some reason it doesn't move me like that "Why is the floor moving?" scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Seems more like a gimmick than a movie.

That's the actual title? Snakes On A Plane?

Is it just me or does anyone else think this gimmick will get tiring before the 3rd act?

                Maybe.

"Bomb on a Bus" was pretty good.

Re: Snakes on a PLANE! Teaser Trailer

I've always liked the title to this project. It's aggressive and shows it doesn't take itself too seriously, thus making the inherently silly premise that much more potable. The title is in the spirit of "An American Werewolf In London" -- you know exactly what this movie is about.

Too many writers suffer from the sin of passive titles. Look in the logline forum and you'll see titles like "Rebound", "Guilty", and "Midwinter". You can slap those titles on to most scripts and it wouldn't matter.

They tried to change the title and Jackson said if they did, he wouldnt support the film... he really likes the snakes on a plane title.

                      Of course he likes it!

It's one of The Truly Great Titles of All Time.

The poor snakes, though. They didn't ask for this.

I mean, what would you do if you suddenly found yourself dumped on a plane flying AWAY from Hawaii?

                      I'd hiss and bite, too.

Over on the Games message boards on my site I have the Snakes On A Plane game, where you can come up with something like TOADS ON A TRICYCLE (plus logline).

It wasn't changed to "Pacific Air 121" then?

                              The prequel:

                              STRANGERS IN A SNAKE:

Two strangers consumed by a giant man-eating Python exchange memories while attempting to emancipate themselves--unwittingly evoking a potent Voodoo curse that is unleashed on their loved ones from the salmagundi of small talk and snake viscera. Digestion, effluxion ensues.
