  • Where or Where Have The Good Movies Gone In 2006?

2006 "blockbusters" have really been a bust. Take for example:

MI:3 - Doesn't Tom Cruise have the biggest front teeth in the world since
Jim Carrey's The Mask? Hoffman's talent was under utilized in this film.

Poseidon - I wanted to lilke this movie and Wolfgang is the best at water action disaster scenes. But, who were those people? And did we really care about them?

Da Vinci Code - I liked it didn't love it. What did Goldsman do? Xerox every page in the book and hand it as an adapted screeplay? Were Robert and Sophie and The Teacher the only ones that had all the clues to the treasure hunt?

X-Men III - Too many characters. For chrissakes, Frasers in it.

Superman Returns - (Trailer). Routh looks tougher as Clark Kent. Not a good sign. And can he act?

Cars - (Pixar) - The kiddies will love it, but will it be the four quandrant (male, female, young, old) story that Disney hopes it will be. And Toy Story, Nemo, and The Incredibles were? No where near Nemo and The Incredibles box office numbers.

Pirates of the Caribbean II - Box office winner of the summer.

Pirates 2 looks as bad as the first.

    This isn't the Howard Johnson's.

Authy. You're not happy unless you're complaining, are you?

Maybe you should expand your viewing beyond the sh!t Hollywood spoon feeds you.

POTC 2 looks like the best film of the year as far as Blockbusters go.

That's really the only 'big movie' I'm looking forward to.

I'm going to see The Proposition this evening.

Authy, if you need me to list you ~200+ great movies from 30's, 40's, & 50's I'll be happy to do it. Nothing like reflecting back on how good it used to be. lol

I forgot about The Black Dahlia. And Pan's Labrinth looks wicked.

Di Vinci sets the record for the biggest world wide opening of ALL TIME.

MI3 has the biggest domestic and world wide opening for the franchise.

X3 breaks records for its opening and holds the 4th biggest weekend of all time and 2nd for biggest single day.

Poseidon is still making very good money and has the lowest drop-off percentage.

So far these three movies have set the summer on fire and it's only just begun.

None of us are getting any of that money, so we don't care. We want to see good movies, not big box office numbers.
