I just read that she just signed a deal to star in "Sex and Death 101." I just realized that I haven't seen or read about her for a while. Is it because of the "shop-lifting" incident that cause the debacle or it's premature to suggest that?

I would think it came from the shoplifting issue.
Then again, she is in "A Scanner Darkly"

Speaking of "A scanner Darkly," how did it do at Cannes fest?

Mixed reviews as far as I know. Nothing more but then again, do Cannes critics like anything, really?

It seems like they liked Pedro Almodovar's "Volver" even though he didn't end up winning the coveted prize.

Yeah, I'm thinking the shoplifting thing caused her to lay low for a while. I like her though, I hope she can turn it around. I think she's a good actress.

                Re: Winona Ryder

Keanu Reeves has revealed that Winona Ryder is still too traumatised by her shoplifting conviction four years ago to help promote their new film A Scanner Darkly at the Cannes Film Festival.

Keanu explained: "[Co-star Robert Downey Jr] and I were speaking of how we miss her and wish she was here because she's such a delightful person and really good actress.-

"But, for her to be here and have to deal with all these other kinds of questions - I don't know if she's quite ready to do that.-

Winona has avoided the public eye since being found guilty of stealing accessories from a Beverly Hills department store.

Hollywood and fans are known to be forgiving. It's not like she commited a heinous crime.

                    Re: Winona Ryder

She's too old to play the tiny ingenue now? The distraught little girl persona doesn't work so well when she's in her 40's (I'm guessing) and supposed to have grown up a little?

Why'd she drop out of THE GODFATHER III? Why to so many questions? But the shoplifting thing is so petty it can't be an excuse, so many actresses have rehabilitated their careers after much worse.

What sick system lets Paris Hilton (not only in a porno moment seen around the world, but video proof she's even cold and talentless during sex) prosper ... while Winona wastes away off screen?

And she's starring in a cartoon? Bad move. Reality sucks.

                      Re: Winona Ryder

                      She's only 34.

This hiatus might actually help her transition into adult roles better since it places a seperation between her young years and her older years.

Does it matter when it comes to jello wrestling?

So you say I move with feline grace, hey? Thanks.

Since I blew the title of her movie in the previous comment (I meant 'Reality Bites' not reality sucks) ... I appreciate all the affirmation and kind thoughts I can get!
