I'm not sure if it will focus on Djimon's character, but I did think that a sequel was planned. I think it was supposed to be like 15-20 years after the first one, and centered more on the Roman culture and politics, versus fighting in the ring.
    Don't repeat it; create it.

And how the heck do you keep him likable as he slaughters a bunch of indiginous cultures? I think that farming, reluctant soldier thing could only work for so long.
Dude, I was being silly, hence the sitcom title.

A Gladiator prequel would probably be about Maximus' rise from a common Spaniard to leader of the Roman army, along with all the butchering of pesky locals who refused to give in to the glory of Rome, as you already pointed out.

Scarlett is linked to a Gladiator movie.
As far as Scott's Gladiator, there were rumours going around that it would have Crowe back as Maxipad. I would hope it is a prequel and not some stupidity where the end of Gladiator was a dream or never happened.

OH WAIT! I remember what it was now! The Gladiator sequel was supposed to be about Luscious. Ugh...I don't like that kid.

We're talking rumours now. I don't think Crowe would want to come back only in dream sequences or flashbacks.

Yes, Stallone is looking at some scripts for Rambo.

You're right...an awesome prequel would be a great way to wash away the taste of the three shltty ones.

Everything dies eventually, so might as well go out good than on a sour note.

Episodes I-III should never have been made. Never.

With the number of books on the aftermath of Return of The Jedi...All proofs to the contrary.
Episodes I-III should have been made...Without Lucas at the helm of the memoribilia factory.
