Rogue Pictures has snagged remake rights to Wes Craven's 1972 debut "The Last House on the Left". Wes Craven will produce this "re-imagining" along with partner Marianne Maddalena and Sean S. Cunningham, who helped produce the original. The storyline centers around two teenage girls who are brutally kidnapped, raped and slain by a gang of murderous thugs. The killers seek refuge in one of the victims' houses, but unknown to them both of the victims' parents have realized what they've done and want gruesome revenge. The project at this time does not have a director set and both Rogue Pictures and Wes Craven are hoping for an early 2007 production start. To me, this seems like a more then obvious choice of a movie to remake as it will have no problem fitting in with the string of recent gore and torture-centered films like the "Saw" and "Hostel" franchises.

that's my little story."everything a writer learns about the art and craft of fiction takes just a little away from his need or desire to write at all. in the end he knows all the tricks and has nothing to say."
