    Re: Unnecessary Violence

What I am saying is that I believe cinematographers are doing society a disservice
Of all the people you could blame for things you find objectionable in movies, why on earth would you blame cinematographers?

    That's bizarre.

        Better yet . . .

        Sheila: Times have changed
        Our kids are getting worse
        They won't obey their parents
They just want to fart and curse!
Sharon: Should we blame the government?
        Liane: Or blame society?
Dads: Or should we blame the images on TV?
        Sheila: No, blame Canada
        Everyone: Blame Canada!!!!
We must blame them and make a fuss
Before someone thinks of blaming us!!!!

Funny, I initially had "best boys," then changed it to key grips.

I dunno why, maybe nostalgia. When I was a kid and saw "key grip" in the credits, I always thought it was some locksmith responsible for any keys and/or doors used in the film.

          Yes, I was/am an idiot.

If they stop showing sex in the movies, will we all become extinct?

I confess, I have now looked up the meaning of cinematographer. I hadn't understood the meaning of the word.

I meant "people who make films", not specifically DoPs.

Tyler wouldn't do or say anything, because he never existed and he's also dead.

                        That was unnecessary.

: You know what, Bert? I bet George Washington caught a cold. He should have stayed home.

: Do you think George Washington would stay in bed and open his Christmas presents?

                            : I don't know, Bert.

: No, sir. Not the father of our country. He crossed the Delaware to New Jersey.

                            : Bert.

                            : (pointing west) New... Jersey!

: I George Washington was going to New Jersey, why didn't he do what everybody does?

                            : What's that, Ernie?

: Take the George Washington Bridge, Bert!

: Oh! Good one, Ernie! Ha ha ha ha!

If your answer was sarcastic, then what was your non-escapist, real meaning reply? Or what would it have been, if you'd offered a straight-forward statement of simple fact ... and not 'sarcasm' ???

You offered an example of your 'logic'

Someone suggested your 'logic' didn't support one of your previous comments (the statistic about atheists in prison) ... that the percentage of atheists versus believers in prison has in fact some actual meaning?

Is your 'sarcasm' a defense then of your 'logic' ?

Can 'sarcasm' ever be a valid defense, when the logic and factuality of a comment is challenged?

If I saw sarcasm used in an intellectual or political debate ... I think i might perceive that as a weak and invalid reply.
