No venue near where I live (a two-hour drive being the closest) but I love the concept.

I caught Mike Mendez's THE GRAVEDANCERS and was kind of underwhelmed...although that might be because I was expecting some resemblance to his debut, the goofily unhinged The Convent.

Most of what made the earlier film so much fun was lacking here (making me wonder how much writer/producer Chaton Anderson had in making it what it was), leaving a sporadically interesting riff on The Haunting. While I have patience for character development, there was too much of it expended here on flatly-portrayed lumps of line reading. Admittedly, once it gets going there are some good thrills and interesting twists, but by then any banked goodwill will have already been overdrawn.

My debut feature, UNREST, is on the line up -

There's a full size version of the trailer on the UNREST website, which you can get to from our home page: http://www.unrestfulmovie.com/

Hopefully some DDer's will get a chance to see the film on the big screen.

        Cheers,
        Chris

Looks great...Reminds me of Anatomy but probably more twisted.

That's actually one of the films I've got on my 'must-see' list for the festival. Looking forward to it, Chris.

Is this the movie that uses real cadavers?

Re: 8 Films To Die For-Horrorfest(Nov.15-17)

                I think so.

UNREST is showing on opening night of the event with REINCARNATION(RINNE), and DARK RIDE. And UNREST will be re-played on Monday 11/20 as part of an encore of the most popular films from Horrorfest.

All of these films look freaking scary and well-crafted; making this required viewing for me and my work. We're all so tired of seeing the recycled Horror films that keep coming out--this is your chance to see something new and original in the Horror genre.

There won't be any Full Access Passes as posted on the main site. After Dark apparently ran into some problems getting the theaters to agree to offer Full Access. So now it's regular individual movie prices on each film, and if you see them all-and save your ticket stubs-you have the option of seeing a 9th film after the event(Said to be SNOOP DOGG'S HOOD OF HORROR...seriously).

                11/17 lineup:
                Reincarnation
                Unrest
                Dark Ride

                11/18 lineup:
                The Grave Dancers
                The Abandoned
                Penny Dreadful

                11/19 lineup:
                Wicked Little Things
                The Hamiltons
                Hood of Horrors

                11/20 encore:
                Unrest
                The Grave Dancers

                11/21 encore:
                Reincarnation
                Dark Ride

I can't watch 8-9 movies in three days. I think I need to try and figure out which three or four I want to see.

My company did all the A/V marketing for Horrorfest. This will be a lot of fun for horror fans. Some films are camp, some straight-up gorefests, some a bit more cerebral.

Chris, I enjoyed Unrest. Check your PM.

Yeah me too. I'm going on Friday night and Saturday afternoon most likely. I can't see all 8 either. Probably will skip Sunday & the encores.

"The Gravedancers" and "The Abandoned" are the only films I think look to be of any real promise...although reviews for "The Gravedancers" have been mixed at best.
