Thanks everyone. Food for thought. I forgot to mention the classic - An Officer and a Gentleman, when he strides through her factory and literally sweeps her off her feet. I guess the "You had me at hello" in Jerry Maguire should rate, but although I enjoyed the film, I really didn't want them to get together. I didn't believe them. But it's still a good line.
Thanks. I'll have another look at both those films. Or Fisher King anyway. Truth is, I tried to watch Braveheart, but the violence got to me. Might feel differently now, given how the bar for tolerance - or mine anyway - seems to have been raised. I'll give it another go.
My favorite is from THE YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY. Mel Gibson pulls Sigourney Weaver out of an embassy-type party, kisses her, she demurs, he ditches her and heads to his car-- can't deal with her equivocating-- she catches up and lets herself in. Then as she's all over him in the car, he drives through a curfew road block and they're shot at, but they just laugh 'cause they're so into each other.
