  • Good Films Still Not Out On DVD

    Kiss of the Spider Woman
    - Mmm...kay, why hasn't this movie been released on DVD? It was only nominated for an Academy Award for Best Film in 1985. Ya think there might be a few people who'd like to see it? Hmmm? Ya think?

I seem to remember the last time I saw this it was circa 1988-89 and me and a friend were over at a girl's house watching this with her late at night. I remember being mesmerized by the story within a story narration...even though I was distracted by the pretty girl sitting across from me. Anyhow, I've never seen a TV or cable station show the film since that night.

Are there any other good films out there which for some reason still haven't been released on DVD?

I thought Panic came out Fall 06. I saw the DVD cover for it online.

I can't wait for Blue Collar (Pryor, Keitel) to be reissued on DVD.

I'm sure Panic in Needle Park was out. In fact, I know it was, because I saw it on DVD in a local high street music store and I was going to buy it because it was Pacino, but never did.

Now, whenever I look for it, I can never find it.

Speaking of which...what the hell is up with The Hustler? I can't get that anywhere. Is there a new version on the way and I just don't know about it or what?

Try finding it at a bookstore like Borders.

That's where I bought my copy.

Pacino was supposed to put out his unlreleased films in a box set for Christmas (Chinese Coffee, Looking For Richard and Local Stigmatic) and the peeps at Suncoast and Borders look at me as if I was the stunt double for the monster in Alien... the question is, where is it Al?

I'm still waiting for the 4th season of "Taxi" but that's another story.

Me too Roscoe. However, I've heard (maybe just speculation) that the people who own the rights aren't going to release anymore.

Now again, this doesn't seem right but ask yourself why they've waited so long when years 1, 2, and 3 all came about 6 months apart.
