How come I never heard about the Jake Gyllenhaal in a Santa Claus hat?

I'm going to spend more time hanging around Camp Pendleton and Twentynine Palms ... You know, now that gas prices are down a bit...

Trust me, Yvonne. You'd get a script or two out of it.

My mom lives out that way. Be sure to stop in and say "hi" ... I'm sure she'd be glad to have the company.

You never offered such a thing to me, Hairy. And I live right next door!

                  Finally seen the movie. Disappointing.

The beginning was cool, enjoyed the dialogue and some cool scenes afterwards.

SPOILER (I don't know why, I'm probably the last one to see it):

But the whole going to combat and no combat thing, bothered me instead of making me go, "That's a trip."

                    Re: Jarhead

I was actually pretty impressed with this film. I thought Mendes did a good job - an improvement over the cold and soulless Road to Perdition, and threw an angle into the war genre that managed to neither fall into the sentimental nor the "war is hell" camps.

Also, though a superficial point, great use of "Something in the Way"
