  • Kiyoshi Kurosawa discusses Eastwood

Here's a link to this interview with Japanese director Kurosawa Kiyoshi in the San Francisco Bay Guardian. Kurosawa discusses his great admiration for Eastwood, specifically Flags Of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima.

What a great read. It's nice to get a foreign director's perspective on modern American cinema. He gives Eastwood much more credit than most of us would and I think he's right.

      Agreed. Thanks for that, Jeff.

Kiyoshi Kurosawa has made some amazing films in his own right, check out Cure, Charisma, Séance, Doppelganger, Pulse(the original not the god awful remake), Bright Future... All are great movies.

          He certainly did. Cheers Slappy.
It's great to see more Asian film makers and writers getting some international nods than just the actors.
