TV show? Isn't this another remake of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers?"

I think it looks pretty entertaining. All it needs is some gratuitous shots of Nicole winning a limbo contest at a topless beach (you know, a flashback, for atmosphere) and it would be perfect.

LOL, duh. Yeah. I just didn't even think they were remaking that again! Jesus Christ.... 1978 was the last remake, huh? Year before I was born. It's about that time, I guess.

I just dropped "The" off the title and thought of the tv show that was on ABC a couple years ago. Silly me.

Abel Ferrara turned in a remake in the mid-nineties, Body Snatchers. Every generation seems to get a remake of this one. It was set at a military base, which when you think about it is sort of amusing.

Meg Tilly flashes her boobs and the tone is nice and dark, the effects pretty gnarly. Definitely worth a rental.

I actually thought "Body Snatchers" was not a bad film at all (granted, not a good one either but certainly worth at least one viewing). Forest Whitaker also is has a small role in it as well. Also, that film came out in 1993...so it's been fourteen years since there's been another take out in theaters.

I love the Philip Kaufman film. One of the best horror/sci-fi films ever made, IMO. This has somewhat of the same look and feel. But then again, I'd rather just watch the Kaufman version again.

I was going to make a snarky comment about how any horror films made as recently as 1993 were now open game for updating...

... but the found that aside for Body Snatchers, Leprechaun, and Jason Goes to Hell, there really weren't any American horror films of relative note made that year.

How's that for an endorsement: Body Snatchers was the best American horror film of 1993!

Actually, the pickin's were pretty lean up until Scream revitalized the genre in 1996. Complain all you want about how bad horror films are these days, but in the early nineties there wasn't even crap to choose from.
