  • Best Parties in Movies

From your own recollections, what are the all-around best depictions of a party you've seen in film? Not sure why Empire decided to include "Alice in Wonderland" because...you know, it's creepin' more than its pleasin'.

              ANNIVERSARY PARTY was good.

Depends what kind of party we're talking about.

Old School is a good frat party.

Can't Hardly Wait for high school.

                Godfather for grown-up (wedding) party.

                Also....The Party, with Peter Sellers.

I thought it was a good moment in Down and Out in Beverly Hills where they are chasing each other thru the house and the Japanese guests start following them.

                      Re: Best Parties in Movies

I wouldn't put them in the top ten, but I liked the parties in Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Towering Inferno, Pride & Prejudice, The Shining, and The Poseidon Adventure.

And The Joker's parade in Batman was cool. Not really a party, but there was music, dancing, and people in costumes.

The worst party in a movie has to go to House on the Edge of the Park.

Probably not even close to the top ten, and I'm going way back...

But a lot of moments from the party scene in Sixteen Candles came to mind while reading this thread. Don't remember if it qualifies.

The Hippy party scene in Midnight Cowboy.. Wild acid trip with sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll and Ratso stealing food and plonking it in his coat pocket.. Very funny..
