The whole thing where this random serial killer posts live feeds of his victims on a website - that the FBI Cyber Crime division can't trace!!!!

    C'mon J. What's NOT ludicrous about that?

What I'd like to know is where the heck he's getting his anonymous proxy servers, web hosts and IP addresses from?

Plus, (according to the trailer) the more hits the site gets - the quicker the victims die. Like I said - intriguing concept - but ludicrous. But for arguments sake - it's only a movie. Never the less, I'll probably watch it - and despite it's stupidity, I may even enjoy it. There's a ton of stupid movies I've enjoyed over the years, so who knows?

Errr... hang on... J, are you actually saying, you may like this film? Wow, now there's a first

It's just Americans. Foreign users are blocked.

Humanity in general is debauched enough to log on.

Why would the killer block foreign IP's?

I just hope to God, we don't see a wave of snuff site movies getting made to compensate the torture porn backlash. I thought that genre was well and truely over with when Nic Cage went all 8MM on us.

The concept reminds me of one of the episodes from "Without a Trace".

Not so sure about this one. Some of the unrealistic Die Hard 4'ish techno-babble made me lose interest.

How is that plot point impossible?

With all the resources they have and their industry in peril (they claim) Hollywood still hasn't figured out a way to shoot a movie directly to your home.

But here some schlub has figured out a way to make the intertubes kill a dude. Within minutes?

Not impossible, but sort of silly.

I'm no cyber whiz or FBI expert, but here's my two cents.

Well, for starters these guys never seem use a copy of Windows.

It's always some super, hi-tech OS that connects to everything from a cell phone to the guidence system of a jet in seconds, and downloads everything in an instant. In some cases without so much as a wireless card or USB port!!

Plus, it's virtually IMPOSSIBLE to have IP addresses, servers and a connection to the internet without leaving a trace. One thing the Feds are good at is snooping, and tracking people down online. Even people who upload viruses from sweaty net cafes in Bangladesh can still get caught. Look at all the guys getting busted these days for uploading illegal music and movies - everything on the net leaves a trace.

I understand it's just a movie - it ain't real, but I'm interested to see how the film handles this aspect.

I finished reading the script today and there were many times when was pulled out of the story by: "Is that really possible?"

This was like "FeardotCom" meets "Saw".

OMG, they set up the website. http://www.killwithme.com/ That is so creepy!

Were there any of the cliche "what we think is a live video feed is really recorded" moments?

Do they upload a virus with their Apple laptop to take him down?

That is what they call "viral marketing".

This seems to take one of the things that bugged me about the last Die Hard and builds the whole movie around it. I just fell through the floor when techies would turn on their computer and download a virus that would blow up the whole building. I'm like -- what kind of explosive materials can you DOWNLOAD? Die Hard used to be all about credibility... but I digress.

This just seems a whole movie about scenes like that.
I'm like an opening band for the sun.
