Well, out of the bunch I'd be the most inclined to catch up on a Bill Murray film that I haven't seen.

There was a point where I though Dennis Miller might make the transition (I still get a kick out of Bordello of Blood when I run across it), but he sort of went wiggy... so there you go.

      Horatio Sanz

      Just kidding.

      Of all time.
Bill Murray 1979 to Lost in Translation

Eddie Murphy 1981 to the first Nutty Professor

      Most recent:
Will Ferrell is stuck in has been stuck in his alpha male/stupid Anchorman character through Talledega Nights, Blades of Glory and Semi-Pro doesn't look to be much of a change. Funny but. Points for Stranger Than Fiction. Granted Bill Murray played the same underdog character. He's just had more of a varied career than Will. So it's still early.

      Recently the most savvy:
      Tina Fey

I'd have to say Jim Carrey...

        ...what?

um. I don't think Martin counts for the purposes of the question as he was never a member of any cast. He has, however, hosted it 14 times.

          But, Martin is a genius.

            And Robert Downey, Jr.

Although doing SNL seems like he was being punished. He probably hit on his agent's wife at the Christmas party.

Now he isn't a movie star, but the one "star" to come out of the SNL talent factory that is irreplaceable, IMO, is Larry David.

I have two JOHN Belushi and Gilda Radner.

I hope they're sharing lunch and a laugh this very moment.

(Sorry-- I just woke up and am very groggy. )

I'd say it would be an uneasy lunch for ol' Jim...

Chris Farley. Even though he had some bombs, TOMMY BOY rules. Some
of his character stuff on the show was great.

Oh, Phil Hartman too. Hated the guy at first, then became a huge fan.
