    If you're afraid to admit you don't like something that is ultimately subjective anyway, it just means you lack conviction in your opinion.

    Understanding craft is a great tool one can use to spin stories that audience might respond to.

    Understanding why audiences respond the way they do is a completely different thing. This is where Goldman is right. Nobody knows anything.

      Yes, I have to admit I do really like that film. But it's such a genre bender there is something for absolutely everyone in that movie. Also, I could quite happily watch Simon Pegg in a pile cream commcercial and be entertained.
