    Re: Most Favorite Scene

    The Se7en scene is classic.

First scene that popped into my mind is the elevator scene at the end of The Departed. Probably the biggest "what the fvck??" moment I've had.

The Matrix when Trinity first unloads on the cops then out paces the agent across the roof tops.

"The orders were for your protection"
"I think we can handle one little gurl. I sent two units. they're bringing her down now."
"No lieutenant, your men are already dead."

At the same time your brain goes "WTF! No, no seriously WTF?!?!?!?!"

Off the top of my head:

          - The one-cut shoot out in the hospital, in the legendary, Hard Boiled.

          - The (almost one-cut) fight scene in Tom yum goong (AKA: "The Protector"), in which Kham (Tony Jaa), climbs the stairs, f**king up whoever gets in his way.

          - The hallway fight in Old Boy.

          - The church shoot-out in The Killer.

          - When the old man bites the bullet in the Korean monster flick, The Host.

          - Sharon Stone's interrogation in Basic Instinct. No, seriously, the way she plays on her sexuality and words to f*ck every dude's mind in the room (and audience). Masterful.

And now some that I detested:

          - The old gays talking nonsense in the very beginning of Irreversible.

          - The nightclub/bludgeoning scene in Irreversible.

          - The rape scene, in - you guessed it - Irreversible.

          - 3 frogs talking tedious sh*t on the metro, again in Irreversible.

          - The baseball bat scene in Casino.
          Cufk, Tish, Sips.

            Re: Most Favorite Scene

            There are just too many:
            • The ending of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - starting with the cannon shot that segues into The Ecstasy of Gold and all way the up to "Blondie, do you know what you are..."
            • I'll second (or third) the shoot out in Heat
            • "Do you think I'm funny" scene in Goodfellas
            • The ending of Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers (the diamond heist was great too)
            • Clarence Beeks in Trading Places telling a person to f*ck off as he makes a phone call
            • Toilet/zipper scene in There's Something About Mary - great for the reactions - horror, disgust, and lack of sympathy
            • "I know it was you Fredo" - Godfather II
            • Naomi Watts' audition scene in Mulholland Drive - brilliant set up and execution.
I could be here all day.

The scene in the shelter blew my mind.

Truth be told, every scene in TAKE SHELTER blew my mind. I honestly think it's a perfect movie.

I agree. The writing is humbling-ly great. I believe that if you change one single aspect of this movie, it would instantly be an inferior product.

I have the blu-ray coming in the mail from Amazon.

Party at Bio's house. You bring the TAKE SHELTER, I'll bring the fancy beer you like so much*. And the women.

                        * Okay, I like it, too. I just can't afford to drink it regularly anymore.

I was actually planning on having people over for a "sake and Seven Samurai" evening.

Sweet. If you ever have a "Stoli and Doctor Zhivago" evening, let me know.
