More movies failing more often at this point would just prolong the recession and continue or worsen the trend of companies tightening down and cutting back on the number and types of projects they're considering.
Yes, but you know as well as I do that H-wood only sees in some dollar sign-like matrix readout, and since those dollar amounts are higher than last year, quality is the last thing on their mind. I would even say that it's not even on their minds at all. They just want more money, and if more bad films than ever is turning a larger profit than ever...well, you see my point.

It's going to turn into something disastrous sooner or later. Maybe not for the suits, but for regular guys like myself who actually enjoy watching movies.

And that's before Harry Potter comes out this week.

It is clearly the best made of the summer blockbusters judging by it's 98% RT rating (40F 1R)

The HP's ave 290mil domestically and this one is being hailed as one of the best--so with cheap entertainment a premium + great reviews--it should have a shot at 300.

The last one was as well recieved and did 292.

As one of those suits, who also goes to see movies (preferably good ones), I guess I'm in a bit of a conundrum... I'd like to see better quality movies out there, but I've got to have a job in order to pay for my movie tickets.

Perfect. Take one of mine and kill two birds with one stone.

Sadly, I'm not the guy who's signature they need on the checks... if I were, believe me when I say that our production slate would look a lot different than it does now.
