Do people still use torrents? Haha

    Yea, it's out there.

Why, is there something better than torrents that I don't know about? The mythical legal purchase? Has that crawled out of the sack we put it in before throwing it off a bridge?

Torrents are still ok, they are my second choice. Get JDownloader, set it up so it resets your IP when needed and head over to Warez-BB. Then queue up links/downloads and leave running 24/7.

Well, that's what I do anyway...

Yeah, it would be a pity if the people who made this actually saw any money...

Went to the NY premier. It was fantastic.

Is this related to the book called "Tales from the Script"? That one also has screenwriters sharing anecdotes.

                  Re: Tales From The Script

A great collection of talking heads dishing out anecdotes, but a garden variety piece of documentary film making. The relentless attack of talking heads admittedly put the emphasis on the much overlooked writers where the movie argues it belongs. But still I kind of wish it had all been packaged in a more palatable format. I mean even if the intention was to make the content 90% talking heads, they could have spiced up the presentation somehow. Let the writers speak over clips from their movies or something, with only brief cutaways to their faces. I guess maybe there would have been rights issues involved with that, but there were several clips from some of the most famous movies about screenwriting (ADAPTATION, GET SHORTY, etc.) so who knows. Also the biggest thing I took away from this movie is that I am sad for the faded glory of John Carpenter and hope his current kick at the can will be a return to form.

Some of the material was repeat from previous screenwriting documentaries.

They're going to change your script, its called showbusiness not showart etc etc.

                    Overall worth watching though.

Xnod, why not just post a link to the torrent in question? Jules is obviously looking to freeload and the moderators here obviously couldn't care less about their members openly endorsing piracy.

Hell, we should all petition for a dedicated torrents sub forum!

Besides, the corporate fat cats behind "Tales From the Script" couldn't possibly need the extra money, right? Might as well take advantage of their toil and give them nothing in return.

Always tickled by the simplistic view of piracy (much more complex an issue than putting fingers in ears and proclaiming it the devil). And, honestly, the tech has improved so much in the last couple of years that there's no longer any need for torrents (or similar peer-to-peer download filesharing).

Regardless, I couldn't help but post this:

                        Piracy, it's a crime.

Oh, my character is in question.

I have no intention of downloading this movie.

I only get 6 gig of bandwith a month and I plan on spending 5.5 of it here, with a little left over for porn. (Most of it tasteful)

Let's not let this turn into a piracy debate... arguing on the internet is retarded.

This film would benefit from being spread around the net. It would help spread awareness of the film outside the screenwriting niche, and since it's pretty good it will get good reviews which will help it out immensely. Piracy can help little films like this.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to justify what I do but people need to understand that piracy isn't that bad. It comes with the territory (technology) anyway.

I hate hypocrites, so if you're going to bite please make sure you're not a hypocrite.

I saw it at a theatre in Bev. Hills. Though much of it is predictable (the cynicism, the despair, the indifference, the illusion, the deception), I enjoyed it for the most part.
