  • The Lineup: Weak title, not-bad film noir flick.

Whenever I see a movie like this, the toughness and grit gets to me, and I love it.

Based on a radio/TV police series that aired on the CBS radio and TV networks (not as popular then or well-known now as "Dragnet"), "The Lineup" details two mean killers (Eli Wallach's more meaner than the intellectually cold Robert Keith) who must recover smuggled heroin from unsuspecting tourists who've arrived in San Francisco before the cops get them. Richard Jaeckel (old school "3:10 to Yuma", "The Dirty Dozen") is their lush of a driver.

Directed by Don Siegel ("Dirty Harry", the original "Invasion Of the Body Snatchers") and written by Stirling Siliphant ("In The Heat Of The Night", "The Killer Elite"), this film's a bag of POW!!!
