I hope people don't overlook this movie or decide it must be dumb or only for children. I saw it today. Not too many people there, but many of them applauded at the end. A woman with her kids turned to me and said she hopes it will win an award, because it works as well for adults as kids. It's smart, it's entertaining, and it works emotionally. Cameron Crowe is again showing what he showed in Say Anything, Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous.

We took the kid to see this one yesterday. Ditto on all of Joan's points above. Matt Damon did a great job in the role as the widowed Dad.Advice from writer, Kelly Sue DeConnick. "Try this: if you can replace your female character with a sexy lamp and the story still basically works, maybe you need another draft.-
