Might not have been nearly as interesting, though, without Benicio Del Toro's contribution of menace, sleaze and brutality.
Not the kind of subversive movie Stone has made in the past; just a solid drama, with thriller and action elements in the mix.
It's almost impossible to believe Travolta was ever a lanky, sexy TV character named Vinnie Barbarino.

The "double ending" was cheap, funny and manipulative all at once. I haven't looked into the novel, but I'm guessing that the first, bloody, ending was in the book, and the "happy ending" was HW's doing. Thoughts?
