  • Seth McFarlane and Oscars

Should be hilarious. Besides the funny dude can sing. Hey, beats Anne Hathaway and what's his face.

It'll be like Billy Crystal and Ricky Gervais had a relatively handsome baby. I think it's a solid choice too.
    Ring-a-ding-ding, baby.

Seth McFarlane is okay, but I don't see what makes Hollywood think he has the goods to pull this off. Steve Martin was good. Billy Crystal, Whoopie etc. were good.

The thing is they all came from a background of performing and making people laugh on stage.

As we saw last year, experience matters.

Successful movie (Ted) + hosting bona fides (SNL) = a good fit.

Also he handled his 'mic gaffe' at the Emmy's pretty well.

Now taking bets on how far into the broadcast he gets before using the Stewie voice.

His recent hosting of SNL sealed the deal.

Seth knows his audience and can rise to any occasion. I bet he knocks it out of the park.

I know he won't, but he needs to leave the Family Guy voices at home. He doesn't need them, and if he uses them, that's all anyone's going to say. "He pulled out Stewie two minutes into the show."

Great description! I think he'll lean more towards the Billy side, though. As well as being funny, doing voices, writing, acting, directing, producing, he's a good singer and musician. I don't doubt that he'll do a decent job, I just hope he won't have to be too tame. His own humor can be Ricky-esque, but I think he'll be expected to dial that back, unfortunately.

I'm in the car, with a bunch of snacks and adult beverages. This is the best idea for a host they've had in a long time. He was genius on SNL.
