Re: Favorite Cross Country Film?
Midnight Run and, of course, PT&A. I'm game for Silver Streak as well.
Cross country stories always provide a good chunk of opportunities for reversals and twists. It's the fish-out-water concept but scene by scene. Been awhile since I've seen a good one. Due Date was ... okay.sigpic
It's ruff bein' me.

Re: Favorite Cross Country Film?
Easy Rider, the indie film that changed the industry and began the anti-studio revolution of the late 60s and early 70s. It remains a classic, especially because (now) imprisoned murderer Phil Spector scores a big bag of coke at the beginning from Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper. And it arguably has the best soundtrack ever.

*SPOILER ALERT*
The other scene in that movie I often think about, and still makes me laugh, is the one where they slowly pan around the car showing the wife asleep, son and daughter asleep, and then finally the dad, who's supposed to be driving, sound asleep. Genius.
