  • RIP James Gandolfini

Met him and his wife just last month. Cool, humble cat.

Sopranos best of all time. Wire fans should not argue this.

        Re: RIP James Gandolfini

I had the pleasure of meeting him and working on a project with him and his producing partners. He was a cool cat, who was respected and loved by everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace.

            I wasn't even a fan, yet I respected him.

Terrible. The Deadline article puts it well, he was so far from the prototypical "male lead" and yet he built that character with such charisma and intelligence that he owned the show.

I was just thinking the other day how well he played that character. One second he was eating ice cream in his bathrobe laughing at a dumb old movie, the next he was such a badass you could hardly believe they were the same guy. It almost transcended a "character."

                  Re: RIP James Gandolfini

Life is a roll of the dice. He was 51 I believe. My grandma is pushing 85, is majorly overweight and lives for deep fried and sugar. You just never know. I've been toying since exactly last night with the decision to yes or no pack up my bags and take off for Europe for a few months, future up for grabs, uncertainty in the air.

Then today a friend informed me of JG's death --premature death, I think is safe to say. And that helped me decide. So yeah, I'm going. Because I may be dead in a year and because life is in the moment.

                  RIP, sir.

Do it, dude. Life is short. Nature proves it everyday.

Rest In Peace. One of the greatest actors. Me and some friends are planning on marathoning the entire Sopranos series over the next week.
