Why did they change a memorable and bad-ass title like "All You Need Is Kill" for a generic title like "Edge of Tomorrow"?

This looks absolutely incredible. I just watched the trailer 5 times in a row. It gets better and better with each viewing.

When I read the basic premise a year or two ago, it sounded interesting, but a bit one-note gimmicky. But after seeing the trailer, I realized how brilliant it actually is. I love the first-day rookie aspect. The female, veteran time-looper, who mentors the hero. The fact that the time-loop is not a human invention, but an alien weapon they accidentally stumbled on.

Visually, it's full of really striking imagery. And Emily Blunt is one of those women who just get hotter and hotter with age. The younger, somewhat mousy Emily Blunt has turned into an absolutely gorgeous, fierce warrior queen. Gotta love that.

And say what you want Tom Cruise, but he's probably the most consistent movie star in Hollywood. Always ambitious, always thriving for quality. He's the power that gets these movies made, and I'm grateful for that. As far as world-class entertainers go, Tom is the cream of the crop.

Can I see this movie right now? Please? Please? Please?

I think Edge of Tomorrow, whilst a bit less edgy actually helps market the film, since it gives at least a hint of what it's about. By contrast All You Need is Kill could have been a film about anything.

But it looks good, Cruise may be loopy but he usually picks interesting projects.

All you need is kill may not have seemed like a very responsible title in light of all the mass shootings that have happened in America in recent times.

Oblivion didn't have a single original bone in its body, and he was hopelessly miscast as Jack Reacher IMO. Also getting more than a little bored of him saving the world as Ethan Hunt; 5th installment on its way apparently.

I will say that his films don't spare any expense on visuals and stunts, so I guess if you`re into that.....

I'll read the book before I watch the movie. I haven't read the screenplay, but in the book Cruise's character is 19, I think, which makes more sense if he's to be a rookie.

But, honestly, I think Tom Cruise is great. I liked him a lot in Collateral. I wish he dared to go full-bad at some point; he'd be a much more interesting villain than hero. Actually, he can pull off either quite well, which is a rare quality.

jack reacher was a good movie. people who say otherwise is usually confuses the actual movie with what it isn't:

1. fans of the books hated the casting. a movie is not the same as a book, it's an adaptation and his size is not a factor in the movie. a movie must be judged on it's own terms, not in relation to how good the source material is.
2. many expected it to be an action movie, instead they got a mystery noir.
