      I can see why this won best screenplay but not best picture.

      It's a great concept, and people could spend days analyzing what it all means. But ultimately, it isn't very visually stimulating, relies too heavily on dialogue and dragged a little bit in the middle. There's few reasons why this wouldn't have worked as a book, just as well as a movie.

      While the first half-hour was brilliant, there was never any real tension in the script, just a sense of inevitable pending failure, which I'm sure is tough to avoid in a human-computer relationship.

      One of the things that was brilliant, was the main character's reaction to the computer seeing other people. If she's able to maintain all these other relationships, why should it matter to him?

      But jealousy is partly because we fear losing our partner, and partly our own vanity giving us a desperate need to feel special, and know that our partner holds up in higher regard than anyone else.
