managed to catch this at AFF's opening night screening (with Natalie Portman in the heezy!)

it's kinda like "A Star is Born" but if David Lynch directed it. a lot of choices the director made didn't really work for me but at least by the end i did start to feel (i think) much of what he was trying to say about the vapid, disposable nature of popular culture in America at the turn of the 20th-21st century. challenging but also more interesting (for me) than the rehashed melodrama of ASIB
