Latest Brit gangster flick directed by Matthew Vaughan. Saw it last night. Thought it was highly entertaining. It pretty much sticks to the usual formula but Vaughan definitely has style in his direction and it shows.

    Thumbs up for this one.

Indeed, and after having watched his debut film, I'm confident he will do a valiant job of keeping both the fans and the suits happy.

So Vaughn's style is formulaic then S1eve? Being a Guy Ritchie clone is not where you'd wanna be right now.

Big surprise that he got X-Men 3, reminds me of Danny Cannon's gig helming Judge Dredd - make or break stuff (it was break for Danny, and he's still recovering).

If I were Vaughn I'd have passed this up and got a few more rounds under my belt - Bryan Singer did Apt Pupil before leaping into the abyss.

And you know that Simon Kinberg is writing it?

What are we supposed to expect of the guy who wrote the script to XXX2 and was hired to correct mistakes with the Catwoman script?

That's horrible. I don't even know if someone with Guy Ritchie-like aesthetics should be making any comic book movies either, save for Hellblazer: John Constantine (which was always based in London, pre-Keanu, during the comic book days). Actually, the thing I liked the most about the Hellblazer comics was the British slang and general attitude.
