  • Harold And Kumar

    What a piece of crap.

Is this the drivel which passes for comedy these days?

Was there a single funny moment in this junk?

          Re: Harold And Kumar

When Kumar said "I have an idea," and the next shot was Harold and Kumar on the cheetah's back, I laughed myself into a coughing fit.

I mean, come on. If you can't laugh at this movie, you need the help of a trained professional.

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, and I didn't think I would. Normally I'm not a big fan of "stoner humor" (Cheech & Chong movies, etc.), but this movie was an exception to the rule for me.

The first time I saw it, I laughed my ass off. Then again, I was pretty drunk at the time and had just finished watching Dodgeball.

I watched it again the other night and it wasn't QUITE as funny as it was the first time, but I still enjoyed it.

              Refried totally...

and then when Neil Patrick Harris comes driving by... out the sunroof.

I hate stoner comedies. I saw this and about died. So funny. The cheetah thing was milk-out-the-nose funny.

                Re: Harold And Kumar

One reason made this film hilarious:

                IT WAS RATED R!!!!!!!!!!!

Most junk from Hollywood calling themselves a comedy is dumbed down for all audiences. This film was dumbed up for adults who enjoy stoners, profanity, politically incorrect offensive humor and t!ts.

Please write more R rated comedies. Oh wait, that's what I write. Forget what I said.

                This isn't the Howard Johnson's.

This was a very funny movie. If you can't find something to laugh at in Harold and kumar, you're a very, very tough audience.

I love when the head extreme punk refers to his associate as "Extreme Skater Punk #1" - a joke apparently written just for screenwriters.

I enjoyed this movie too. But of course it's not for everyone's tastes.

                        "Thank you, come again!"

I agree it was a little under par on some fronts. My response to the cheetah scene was 'Finally! They've been *****footing up to that for an hour!' And the McWhatever employee going insane felt pretty forced. But I still had a good time - and it was nice to see someone portray Asians as something other than genuises, martial arts experts, or Confucius wannabes.

Friend of mine just wrote a great, and I mean great, script around the political relationship between the US and China. It was good work, but I told him a fun drinking game would be to do a shot everytime one of his Asian characters made some silly metaphor or quoted a proverb.

You'd have died by act two.

the only part of the movie I didn't find funny was the cheetah scene. Just couldn't buy it.

Everything else was laugh a licious.
