  • Your favorite intro song

    Hi all,
I was curious what your favorite tv show intro song is?

You know, that song/theme of one of the shows you love that just hangs around in your head or you find yourself alone and catch yourself dancing a bit to.

Some that I catch myself humming in my head to are:

    The Greatest American Hero
    Yellowstone
    Dallas
    The Addams Family
    Hawaii 5-0 (the original)
    The Twilight Zone
    Star Trek Enterprise

Theme songs are my jam. Our song at our wedding when they brought out our cake was the CHEERS theme song. Same guy wrote my other favorite PUNKY BREWSTER theme song.

But GREATEST AMERICAN HERO is a legit great song song.

Hawaii 5-0 is one of the great instrumentals of the 20th century.

Sometimes you just hear the first few notes of a tune and you knew it was time to get comfortable and ready for your show.

Cheers & Greatest American Hero ditto
We didn't get CBS where I lived back in 80s, so no Dallas for me. I was a Dynasty viewer.
      Twin Peaks
      Married with Children
      Hill Street Blues
      Miami Vice
      I Dream of Genie
      Gilligan's Island 3 hour tour
Beverly Hillbillies loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly, hills that is
Green Acres is the place to be

Hill Street Blue is a wagon. The GOAT, in my opinion. I like Taxi as well.

I didn't even watch Hill Street Blues! That is how good it is. I just like the theme song.

I was part of a morning news production for two years in high school. There were three teams, and we was team A.

Literally dozens of students were convinced that we had created the A-Team intro ourselves, as we played it into our open every newscast. I'm pretty sure we introduced an entire high school population to that show, because of that awesome intro music and voice over.

Oh my goodness, I can't believe I forgot to include my most fav of tv intros!!

I shall put the intro narration below, you all will probably know it, just add those little plinky piano notes in your mind as you read with a deep and gravelly voice......

Dr. David Banner: physician, scientist; searching for a way to tap into the hidden strengths that all humans have. Then an accidental overdose of gamma radiation alters his body chemistry. And now when David Banner grows angry or outraged, a startling metamorphosis occurs...The creature is driven by rage and pursued by an investigative reporter. The creature is wanted for a murder he didn't commit. David Banner is believed to be dead and he must let the world think that he is dead until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him

Going back to the 70s in our time machine, there's...

Welcome Back from Welcome Back, Kotter
Movin' On Up from the Jeffersons
And there was always something 'exciting and new' with the Love Boat's "Come Aboard"

After the release of Das Boot in 1981, I thought the two ideas should be combined into Das Liebesboot:

                        Love, exciting and new.
Come aboard... or we'll torpedo youuuuu.

                        But, maybe that's just me.

Got another one and I am not ashamed to say I have all three seasons of this show on dvd.
                          Sing along with me now.....

                          Marshall, Will and Holly
                          On a routine expedition
Met the greatest earthquake ever known

They were high on the rapids
When it struck their tiny raft
                          Ahhhhhhhhhhhh
And plunged them down a thousand feet below

To the land of the lost
                          (Lost lost lost lost lost)

                              Cheers
                              WKRP in Cincinnati
                              Monk
                              The Virginian
                              Bonanza
                              The Waltons (once really huge)
Taxi (Bob James, one of my favorites)
The Late Show with Craig Ferguson (like the puppets)

I really liked WKRP in Cincinnati's intro...
