Well, this certainly adds more to Sawyer's character. I think this was another solid episode. I do wish they had gotten into a few more scenes back at the camp with Desmond and the gang, but I have full faith in the story the writers are telling us.

The twist at the end wasn't too surprising...it's something we've all speculated before. Something that was hinted at on the blast door map in the Swan. The revelation about Ben's spine is interesting. It seems that Jack, Kate, and Sawyer were taken for very specific, practical reasons.

The preview for next week looks great. I guess we're gonna meet the owner of that missing glass eye the Tailies found last season.

At the risk of being labeled a whiner, I have to admit I'm having a very hard time watching this season. I have invested two entire seasons in getting to know and even like Jack Kate and Sawyer and watching them being beaten, caged, tormented, tortured and lied to with no recourse whatsoever is getting really, really difficult - and a bit old at this point. I hope more of Ben's crew get iced by Jack and our gang. I think I'd rather see Sawyer beat up Ben than learn the secrets of the island at this point.

The writers really have my bloodlust up. I want to see a good old fashioned ass-whuppin'. So when Jack et al can't fight back week after week, it's incredibly frustrating. The best line was when Jack told whatsherface he didn't care about her feelings. Nice.

Also, the ABC promo department needs to stop using the phrase "Everything will change" when talking about Lost and the NIne. Just. Stop.

Everything is going to change. The writers have promised that would happen after these 6 episodes for a long time. Since last May. So I believe it. And these revelations occur occasionally on Lost. Why the hell shouldn't ABC promote it? I've never seen them promise that and not deliver.

On a side note, Nathan Fillion's first appearance on "Lost" is with "I Do", the sixth and final episode before the 13 week hiatus of the season which of course will air on November 8, 2006.

I just recently got into Lost in the past couple weeks and I've already watched all of season one but have yet to see season two yet. I just have one question, BUT if it spoils something from season two don't tell me....okay, so if the other island is right across the water, how could they not have known about it before?

I tried to watch LOST really, was a fan first year, even watch most of
the second year, but this whole group, the others, well, they are no longer
a mystery and I can't stand 'em. I stopped watching.

Sometimes a mystery is best left a mystery.

I thought it was a solid if unspectacular episode. Sawyer's a great character, although I do agree that the incessant beatings have gotten slightly old. It feels like it's been awhile since we've seen the characters interact... they're all isolated from each other. Which is fine for now, and I have faith that we won't spend the entire season with Kate, Jack and Sawyer locked away.

I was slightly confused about the island revelation. Wouldn't they have been able to see another piece of land from their beach? Or was that not their actual beach they were staring at?

Ele, I get why Jack was chosen, but are you saying you know what Kate and Sawyer's specific reasons are at this point?

And remind me about the glass eye you mentioned. I don't remember it from last year and I didn't notice anyone missing an eye in the preview for next week.

No, I don't know the reason they took Kate and Sawyer. But since it's suggested that Jack was taken for a specific reason, I have to only assume they were too. I mean, the Others could've taken Sun with the boat but that wasn't a concern. They let Hurley go too. So these 3 have something useful about them, in a practical sense it appears. From what I've heard we're going to find out something very surprising about Sawyer. That may be why he was taken.

As for the glass eye, Bentley mentioned where we've seen it. And in the preview for next week they see somebody on a monitor in the Pearl that has an eye patch. I'm guessing it's the same guy. I'm also guessing we won't meet him until the week after and that he's played by our beloved Nathan Fillion.

So after a bit more research, I'm thinking Nathan Fillion will be a flashback character. Somehow related to Kate. It'll be her episode.

Something else to think about...the tumor. Rose's cancer was cured. We all know the other medical miracles on the island. So how did somebody get a tumor? And if it is Ben, somebody who's lived on the island his whole life, it's even stranger.

                          Re: Lost 10/25/06

I'm beginning to wonder if all of these flashbacks aren't a ruse. In other words, none of the flashbacks ever happened in the first place. It's almost like someone is trying to plant these memories in all of the "castaways". That would explain my greatest concern about the show... which is - how could so many people who have killed someone end up on the same flight?

I also thought it was interesting that they referred to the island as Alcatraz last night, which just so happens to have been a prison. Of course that could be the writers playing games...who knows.

Does anyone else think it odd that nobody is trying to get off the island? I mean they had a sail boat that probably cost a half million dollars or more and do they try to get off the island? No they go after their friends who are being held by the others. It seems to me it would have been smarter to take the sail boat and get rescued. Then they could bring the Coast Guard or an entire army to rescue their friends.

Oh well, every show brings more questions and never any answers. I still watch the show but I watch it on tape now. It's still a pretty good show but it does get frustrating at times. My wife stopped watching the show. She and I used to plan our Wednesday nights around Lost and cook a special dinner for the show. Now I just tape it and she and I watch Criminal Minds. She has lost all interest in "LOST".

Desmond explained that he sailed for 2 weeks and just went in a circle. The raft was ambushed by the others in season one. I think they realize just sailing away isn't an option. And having Sayid, Jin, and Sun not chase after their friends would be out of character, IMO.

But...rumor has it somebody is leaving the island. So we'll see. Personally, I think it would be pretty mind blowing if Jack accepted Ben's deal and escaped, only to attempt to return with help.

Ben said in the beginning he was either born on the island or been on the island his entire life. It's quite possible the tumor wasn't there when he first started off on the island.

Many of the cures for Locke's legs, Rose's cancer and such happened to the character happened post-island.

Or, and, I'll throw this out for @#$#s and grins: The Tumor is the Island's way of saying thank you for messing up my home, you @#$@.

As for the two island it's no surprise how the Other's found the raft since they were probably jetting back to Hydra Compound during the night.

As for not seeing the second island ever: None of the episodes had actually seen both side of the island before.

I'm guessing Alex is the one playing with the "faulty" comm system or maybe it's just a fault switch.

And. did I hear right: They have a "sub"?
