Being selfish here. Have to get back to writing and no thread posted so...

God bless Greg Grunberg for committing to "The Haitian is down, The Haitian is down." That line. Ouch!

Not happy with the X-Men-like storyline. Guess it was inevitable but...

Nice twists with the Petrelli bros.

Really not happy with that X-Men homage/blatant. Otherwise, this could have have been a two-part ep. Oh well.

I thought it was played pretty well. This trip to the future could've been a total waste of time. Instead we know how the whole "Heroes" story was brought into motion and that "saving the cheerleader" was really much more important than we figured. It was a fun hour. I like Peter playing Neo. You can't expect too much originality from a show about superheroes.

I agree. The episode could've been a lot like "Six Months Earlier" which was just one huge flashback (which I really didn't like). At least here there were crucial plot elements at play that kept you interested, making it more than just a "what if" episode.

At least they ripped off Days of Future Past and not Dark Phoenix... everyone rips off Dark Phoenix.

I do have one question about the episode, though.

          Where's Linderman?

He wasn't mentioned at all in the episode and neither Sylar nor Peter had his power to indicate there had been a showdown or an encounter at some point.

Well, there was a quick mention of the "linderman act". I was surprised that the scar on Peter's face wasn't explained, being that he can regenerate and heal. Maybe I missed something? I still haven't figured out why I watch every show.

Hmm I missed that "Linderman Act" bit.

About Peter's scar, I wondered the same thing though I just assumed it was the result of having gone nuclear. Sure, he can regenerate and survive it, but not without consequence.

Either that or, when the bomb does/does not go off, we'll see what actually caused the scar. Remember, they went back to the past where the explosion hasn't happened yet, so we might just see how Peter got the scar in real-time.

I just really, really, really hope that Hiro fails and they don't cop out. They absolutely have to tell the story that went on between the bomb and what we just saw. The season finale HAS to be Hiro's failure. Otherwise, this goes from the top tier of television to average/entertaining at best.

The future alliances and showdowns are exciting. Haitian, Nathan (Sylar), Mohinder, Parker vs. Peter, Hiro, Nikki/Jessica, HRG is one hell of a match up. Wish they had a couple other factions with other agendas though.

They could have devoted some of the muscle from the Good vs. Evil fight to HRG and made this a three way but whatever. I'm ready to find out why they end up on the sides they do and watch that war Nikki referenced.
I'm surprised that Hiro's companion is dead... and he discovers it in the future... that in itself having him travel forward to discover this is surely an interesting point... wondering and curious how he is determine to change his destiny?

                A question in doubt!

                However, a very good story!!

This was actually my least favorite episode of the year. The first one that felt like filler to me.

I think that's a somewhat unrealistic expectation. After all, the primary dramatic use of time travel is usually to set up the consequences of failure - a possible result that MUST be avoided at all costs. Not to say that the writers won't honor your request, but I'd be surprised if it happened just the way the future characters remember. What would be more interesting to me is if they succeed in averting the known disasters, but only create another one in the process.

Of course, if one were to be technical, there's no other way it could have happened. After all, in the world of the future, it's history, complete with time travel and everything.

Hmmm...I guess you could really go either way with it, huh?
