  • R.I. P - Soupy Sales

Is it really true?! Died at age 83 today! I remembered him in the mid-60's, he will surely be missed!

    Rest In Peace - Soupy!

Wow! He was part of my childhood - he actually kind of scared me - he was so into his puppets, etc., with that kind of gravely voice. A true original, that's for sure. Rest in Peace, Soupy!

      Re: R.I. P - Soupy Sales

I was raised in Detroit, and never knew if he was just a wacky local or national, or his level of sobriety at any given time(& that last bit is purely speculation on my part)...But as a child, watching Soupy was as close to feeling like I was getting grown up entertainment as a children's show could get.

      R.I.P. indeed!

        Twenty-thousand pies in the face,
now Soupy has his Pie in the Sky.

He often came to the television station I worked at in Orlando.
Seemed like a nice guy. He'd do anything for a laugh.

I always thought one of the funniest things about the show was the way the off-screen crew constantly cracked up very audibly....he had no studio kid audience on the shows I saw.

Bill, we prefer the term "rerun".

Are we making fun of good' ole Bill?

Don't sweat it Bill, someone always get a little offended.
