Wow. What a crappy pilot.
The premise is lame to begin with, which is probably why they couldn't scrape together some pilot-worthy talent, but come on! It wasn't even slightly believable. Everything happened in precisely the right order to allow it to happen, and we had to trust nothing ever happened between characters that we didn't see. It was like being force-fed bovine manure.
The directing was barely adequate, the editing was terrible, the "effects" were so bad it was painfully obvious the actors were standing in front of green screens, the dialogue was so-so and the story was blah. The acting was the only bit of quality to be found.
ABC Studios pulled out because they can't make the economics of the CW work. This makes sense to me now; if the pilot had funding from CW and ABC and that's what they managed to come up with, it's a money pit. Good for ABC for seeing the writing on the wall and jumping ship early.
This series is doomed to a watery grave.
Anyone think otherwise?
