The second season was much better, in my opinion. For one thing, they added more urgency to each episode, so it felt like the storyline was heading to an actual conclusion. (Probably because, well, it was.)

Also, they cut back on the ten-second shots of people staring out windows, which happened often enough in the first season that it could have become the inspiration for a drinking game.

I just finished the first season of this and was frustrated enough to Google who actually killed Rosie so I wouldn't have to sit through another season to find out.

I gather they didn't actually reveal the killer(s) until the end of season two, and it would have been impossible to go anywhere after dragging that out for 26 episodes.

I mean, how many times can someone seem circumstantially guilty only to find it was not that person and the real killer remains out there? I understand this is a drama but everyone having some horrible skeleton in their closet seemed to be too much after a while and took this from drama to soap opera. I was half expecting this would wind up being Murder on the Orient Express, where 12 characters were in on the murder. And the mayoral race seemed ridiculous after a while. One candidate fathering a child out of wedlock and the other frequenting an escort service and also charged with murder. What a great choice for Seattle!

This series could have been an amazing six-episode mini series, but they dragged it out and I felt unfairly manipulated as a viewer time and time again.

If they can come up with some way to connect a new murder with Rosie's, that should keep it going. But other than that, it just feels like a procedural that stretches one episode over a full season (or even two).

I *really* liked this show. IMHO stunning writing, great characters and a tier one involving and twisting storyline.

There may be some hope: it's being shopped to other networks.

I thinking dragging it out over two seasons is what lost people, and after the finale, I kept asking myself: What happens now? Another murder?

I didn't have much love for it. I can't put my finger on why, but I couldn't care less about the inner turmoil of the Larsen family.

And shouldn't there have been a big outcry after the dad nearly killed a Muslim for a crime he didn't commit? I guessed that seemed to obvious, but it's weird that it went unnoticed by the same media that was covering the story of his daughter's murder.

Damn, you beat me to this post.

I was kind of surprised AMC cancelled it. I thought they might have renewed it for one more season to allow Veena Sud to gain back the trust of the audience. I wonder if she now regrets stretching it out. I understand she was trying to provide depth, but looking back there was just too much. Personally, within those two seasons, with specific story lines cut out, is a pretty solid first season.
