It was in Empire Magazine... and one of the scripts was by the Wachowski sisters... so I don't know how seriously this list should be taken.

Cameron's Avatar was among the 12.

there are a few opinions on the matter... i remember a few articles online that also referenced some very good unproduced scripts.

included was stuff like avatar, protosevich's draft of i am legend, wachowski's carnivore (which is a damn good script), bad moon rising, a model daughter, manhattan ghost story, crusade (the draft that verhoeven was going to do once upon a time)... i forget what else.

Actually, nevermind, I looked it up online. And in doing so I came across this article, from Screenwriters Utopia in 2000:

          TOP TEN UNPRODUCED SCRIPTS

Some on this list have since been produced.

I'd be a bit careful with that utopia article.

I chose one of them at random to read. It happened to be Ron Bass original version of Entrapment.

Now I don't know if I should blame this on the bias of the article writer's love of Ron's stuff, but frankly so far it's pretty average.

Trust me, if this is one of the ten greatest unproduced scripts out there, then it gives us all hope.

I'm currently a fifth of the way through and frankly I've seen nothing. I don't buy any of the characters. I don't buy the sexual attraction between them, which forms too quickly. It's dripping with plotholes in just the first 20 odd pages. The dialogue is pretty snappy, but sometimes it just leaves you thinking......'What?'

            Lines like...

M- Young lady. I am old enough to be your grandfather.
            G- My father.
G- That's part of the rush.

            Is this guy serious?

I'm sorry. Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm completely out of touch.

Give it a read. It does just about maintain a person's interest, but one of the best!?? I'll leave you to judge

EDIT: It gets better halfway through act 2....Still not earth shattering or anything though.
