Video Game Movies

I had heard that there was a planned Bioshock movie among many other video game movies (Halo, Gears of War).

What ever happened with Bioshock? Was there ever even a script for this or was it just in rough development?

I'm not a gamer, but I was aware of the rough storyline for Bioshock and think it would be a fantastic film.

Anyone know?

BIOSHOCK was halted because Universal didn't have the appetite to make an R-Rated film with a massive budget that was creeping towards $200 million. John Logan wrote the script.

As of last July, Gore Verbinski (who was originally set to direct but is now only producing) claimed they are still working to make the BIOSHOCK movie happen.
