"A haunting erotic fairy tale about a student who drifts into prostitution and finds her niche as a woman who sleeps, drugged, in a 'Sleeping Beauty chamber' while men do to her what she can't remember the next morning."

Julia Leigh is the writer/director. I've heard something to the effect that the script is very short, and that she adds stuff as she directs.

Yeah, that's just put me off my next meal.

Maybe I'm not the right target market.

                  Re: Sleepng Beauty

I think I remember seeing a review of this while back on scriptshadow a while back. I remember from the review that it was supposed to be a mystery what the men were doing to her, but as I think someone pointed out a quick google search for "sleep porn" would clear that up for her in like five minutes.

Don't really understand how this is really an idea for a movie. Sounds more like a playboy movie.

i have memories of that disturbing scene in frances (jessica lange) when an orderly at a psychiatric hospital pimped out the doped up body of a movie star.

Ohhhhh. Please. I'm starting to gag. I have a suggestion for a counterpoint concept:

                      Sleeping Ninja

When men "do" things to a narcoplectic (sp?) woman as she sleeps, she rips their hearts out with Ninja moves she can't remember in the morning.

(My theory: if a woman has "erotic fantasies" of men "doing things" to her as she sleeps, she needs therapy. Fast. I mean, look at the phrase "doing things" ... sounds like a little child. This is sad.)
Advice from writer, Kelly Sue DeConnick. "Try this: if you can replace your female character with a sexy lamp and the story still basically works, maybe you need another draft.-

                        more counter to the gag:
she fits a razor blade inside her vagigi
                        that oughta do it.

                            Re: Sleepng Beauty

I actually just read both "Sleeping Beauty" titled scripts back to back unable to sleep earlier this week. This particular one reads very David Cronenberg. It's 66 pages or so of anguish and misery. Still no where nears as vile as the logline suggests. Rule #1 of her "Sleeping Beauty" sessions is no penetration. So rule that out quickly. This is something else entirely. I really can't even begin to describe how sexual it isn't. The sex and nudity here is played like twisted character development. I can total see what drew Emily Browning and Mia Wasikowska before that to this project. They are playing a vacant lot faking human emotion and more or less using sex and their bodies to feel.... well.... anything. It's a hard read. But not as sick and degrading as what your all assuming.
CG is officially closed. Please don't send inquires in regards to it. Thanks.

This is interesting, boynotorious. However, the "no penetration" angle makes it even more bizarre, IMO. But not a good kind of bizarre.

Who's the market for this script? Women who so abhor sex they prefer being in a temporary coma yet - even then - reassured there will be no penetration when men "do things" to them. It sounds like arrested sexual development to me.

On scriptshadow he mentions the lead doesn't know what's done to her and the audience doesn't know either because it's thru her POV.

Will not showing what the men do to her appeal to the male market??

My feeling? This is a Black Swan wannabe thing. Which sort of ticks me off considering how women are portrayed in a good portion of films. And now this.
