  • Lethal Weapon Screenplay - Classic Line

In Beverly Hills, we arrive at

    EXT. HOUSE - DAY

It's the kind of house I'm going to buy if this movie becomes a big hit.

To me that is a subtle yet classic line that got sold.

Doubt if that line sold the script if that's what you mean. Funny when I read it, though. Black, as he says many times when asked about LW, had little to lose being a twenty three old at the time. He tossed the very first draft in the garbage, believing it was crap.

It's a fun line but that screenplay rocks from page one. The intro of Riggs, the intro of Murtaugh and when they first cross paths at the police station, it's a great first act.

      Damn that Shane Black!
