Re: Go Emily!!!!
Yes! I saw this in announcemnts but my post there hasn't been approved.
Exciting stuff! Good job.Advice from writer, Kelly Sue DeConnick. "Try this: if you can replace your female character with a sexy lamp and the story still basically works, maybe you need another draft.-

Too bad about the title mistake, especially since I well recall the thread about it here as you tweaked it. The suggestion to use "This" instead IIRC of "So" is sooo language-micro and yet I think it makes a substantial difference - I just wish I could explain the difference. I have spoken to language-nerd friends of mine and (1) they agree that "This" is better, but (2) they also cannot readily explain why.
BTW everyone, here's the itsonthegrid link. At least they didn't get "This" wrong.

Update: ****, the link won't work work because it has the f word in it and the DD software substitutes ****. I'll do a shortened link and post shortly.
Update 2: The link now works; I shortened it at bit.ly

Re: Go Emily!!!!
Good luck, Emily!
Just two questions. Feel free not to answer-
1) Is there a change in agents between trackingb and going out?
2) Who chose to insert the swear word into the title?
Other than that, go bat a home run for DD... and yourself of course

Re: Go Emily!!!!
1) Yes. Ava Jamshidi was my agent, but she was let go from ICM not long after she took me on. She's a manager now. I signed with Sheryl and Debbie at APA almost two weeks ago.
2) It was not my idea, but as soon as I saw the title cover with it inserted, I was all for it.
And thanks!

Re: Go Emily!!!!
Woah! Didn't know Ava Jamshidi was let go from ICM. If that was around trackingb contest time, I think she had a script of mine still to read.
Explains a lack of reply maybe.... hopefully!
Anyway, hope it goes well. And I had a feeling that the title idea wasn't yours. Smacked a little of Agency decision. Not that it doesn't work. I like it.
But it sounded to me like one of those 'We need this to sound like an action movie with balls.... and the wedding dress reference might give the wrong tone'
"I know .... How about FU...."
Again, good luck. I'll be keeping a watchful gaze... at least, I will in a months time when it's free to check Trackingb updates without needing a password
