Anyone got any good recommendations for ones they've read recently?
It's the eye of the Tiger, it's the thrill of the fight

No, but I hope and pray that Cloud Atlas is as good as its trailer.

Elysium and Agent Ox were both quite good.

        Looper. Very well-written.

I've got Cloud Atlas but I don't wanna spoil it for myself. + the script is around 230 pages.

Anyone else feel like "Looper" was genuinely trying to be a great film, but missed?
Some people think it *is* great (I don't) but it's def. worth watching. Specially if you like neo-noir.

Not to harp (ok, to harp) but "Cloud Atlas" is the one trailer I've seen so far this year
that makes me feel like I might be weeping and cheering when I see it.

Totally disagree. Looks like a convoluted mess.

From the trailer, or the script?

It could be...it's an epic, so them's the risks.

Apparently there are *six* storylines, so that's a lot of balls to keep in the air.

From the trailer. Just my initial reaction.

LOL. I had precisely the same thought when I first saw the trailer. There's no attempt to explain its story. It just hurls a bunch of wacky images at us. By the time I got to the asian android, I was like, WTF am I watching?

Looper, on the other hand, did a fantastic job -- BRAVO!

As for great sci-fi actions, you can check out mine. It was a CONTEST WINNER (at scriptvamp).

After reading reviews of Cloud Atlas, it sounds like it could be pretty interesting, but that it may have been better if they had not used any well-known actors. Man, three hours is a long movie if it isn't that good.

I read Shadow 19 by Jon Spaihts a while back. Thought it was pretty good.

A glass of BOURBON in one hand and a COMPUTER MOUSE in the other,

Still workin' on a new one. Just imagine Star Trek meets Hotel Rwanda.
